The Society of Surgeons Pakistan is the main professional organization of surgeons in Pakistan. Lahore chapter was established in 1984 with the main aim of providing an academic forum for the surgeons of Lahore and adjoining cities to share their experiences.  This chapter has grown in strength over the years to the present size with more than 600 members. Now it is amongst the largest surgical forums in Pakistan. It strives to disseminate surgical knowledge, promote unity amongst the members as well as address the interest of the surgical fraternity at large. To practice surgery effectively in today’s society, our graduates need to be proficient not only in their respective field, but also in disciplines beyond the typical curriculum. Political events, judicial rulings, economics and  the media all impact the manner in which the surgery is practiced in this country. The society is dedicated to the ethical and competent practice of surgery.
